First user of MassBalance Pro™ certified

Berlin 03.05.2010

Today, BIOETON Kyritz GmbH became the first company to be certified to the international ISCC standard. The company, based in Brandenburg, Germany, is able to produce 80,000 tonnes of biodiesel per year, primarily from rape, and operates its own upstream oil mill. It is a subsidiary of BIOETON S.A. in Warsaw.

Being certified pursuant to the German Biofuels Sustainability Ordinance, the company meets all legal requirements and those of the ISCC, which is the only one which exists as yet. It is the first company able to provide evidence of the sustainability of the biomass used and of the biodiesel produced on the basis of the Biofuels Sustainability Ordinance.

MassBalancePro™ is currently the only application available on the market for the documentation of sustainable biomass within a mass balance system. It is a solution for companies which has been specially developed to meet the needs of the Biofuels Sustainability Ordinance. The manual system to be installed in companies is accompanied by a software application which carries out all calculations for the required interim balances.

As the managing director of BIOETON Kyritz GmbH said, the prior implementation of the MassBalancePro™ mass balance system made the required checks of the documentation of the goods flows within a mass balance system significantly easier.

Although MassBalancePro™ does not have the high level of automation of the track&certify software solution, also from EUFEX, for small and medium-sized companies MassBalancePro™ is nonetheless often the optimal solution for an entry-level mass balance system to meet legal requirements.
